Blast From The Past: A Garden That Grew From Stone

A throwback to our feature on Better Homes and Gardens, where one boulder shaped an entire landscape.

• A few years ago, AQL was featured on Better Homes and Gardens during the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show to share our unique garden show design ‘Emergence’ which focuses on the centrally placed yellow granite boulder. 
   
• This garden was more than a display - it was an immersive space, created to be seen, felt, and heard. 
   
• The misting systems brought cool relief on warm days, sound in the landscape added to the atmosphere, whilst garden light created a whole different mood and look to the garden at night. Indigenous glass art panels echoed the natural forms around them and told a story of place and culture.
   
• Designing with nature continues to inspire our work today, and this garden is a reminder that sometimes, the strongest ideas come from simply listening to the landscape.
